Studies have shown that the reliability ofudfully rated converters (FRC) in permanent magnetudsynchronous generator (PMSG) wind turbines is critical.udThis paper outlines an experimental rig that appliesudPMSG wind turbine specific operating profiles to audmachine side converter (MSC) power module. A numberudof test regimes have been designed to verify thermaludmodels of the power module, validate the use of cycle lifeudvs. Tj profile manufacturing data, and determine the windudturbine operational profiles that cause the most damage toudthe MSC.
