Abstract. - Relationships between the increase of the rate of greenhouse effect gas and the life of trees are complex. One increase of the temperature and of the rate of CO2 stimulates the production of biomass in forests, that stock a part of supplementary carbon. Forests would advance to poles and would rise in altitude. But the strongest production of biomass would exhaust poor soils, would drive to vegetable species extinction. It is necessary therefore to protect to the maximum new and current forests in their diversity.
