The Aesthetics of Myth and the Dialectics of the Sign in Roland Barthes Unlike other theories of myth, Mythologies presents anarrative « myths » ; Barthes' theoretical apparatus develops a dielectics of the sign which explains how myths, as metalinguistic signs, can be naturalised by bourgeois ideology.
