Abstract. - In a middle mountain area deeply affected by depopulation, the necessity of holding consolidations is all the more so urgent since the predominant ovine breeders greatly need ever increasing agro-pastoral areas. The procedures wich are being undertaken are obviously quite varied since the physical and human environment is extremely complex : simplified regrouping of lands, regrouping of lands together with planning («remembrement-aménagement»). I.V.D. and A.DA.S.EA. actions with limited effects, punctual SA.F.E.R. interventions or more grouped and effective ones. Unfortunately the more specific procedures : waste lands law. Pastoral Land Owners Associations, «Zonage agriculture-forêt», have not been yet undertaken or implemented on a little scale because of the lack of a certain receptivness as well as of active structures of animation and coordination.
