Distinction, par les micro- striations dentaires, d'individus issus d'environnements et d'horizons chronologiques différents : Apport de l'analyse factorielle et de la classification ascendante hiérarchique/Advantages of the utilization of factorial analysis of correspondences and hierarchical ascendant classification for the distinction, based on dental micro-striations, of individuals originating from different chronological horizons
Advantages of the utilization of factorial analysis of correspondences and hierarchical ascendant classification for the distinction, based on dental micro-striations, of individuals originating from different chronological horizons. Microtraces on the surface of teeth yield numerous types of information concerning human activities. Interpretations of their distribution present numerous difficulties in terms of the real origin of the traces and the significance of the variability of orientation, dimension, density and morphology of the traces. A statistical approach to these data and a redefinition of objectives is presented here. The application of factorial analysis of the correspondences to test a classification of individuals from dissimilar environments based only on the examination of dental striations resulting from - by hypothesis - different boli was an objective that could lead to interesting results.
