Abstract. - Accultured for a long time, the Ngaju Dayaks, are accustumed to the merchants. They seized the opportunity when the trading economy reached Borneo at the end of the last century. Still belonging to the whole dayak community, refering to their agricultural methods, their purposes have already changed. They manage to obtain the best possible use of a low seductive natural environment, and succeed in an imbrication, not merely a juxtaposition between food crops and cash crops.
