The Papandayan volcano in Indonesia erupted in November 2002, and expelled more than one million cubic meters of volcanic ash. Although the eruption magnitude was low, the direct financial loss amounted to 1.5 x 106 US$. The whole drainage basin was disrupted through several geomorphic processes which followed one another over time and space.
