The new testimony to Jean de Murs' Musica speculativa is entered in the minor tradition of this treatise. This particular version appears as late as 1323 with an abbridged version in 1325. The Berlin manuscript has been collated to two other sources which transmit this version (Milan, Bibl. Ambros. C 241 inf., and Paris, Bibl. Nationale, Latin 7925). In the various sources, the Musica speculativa is accompanied by a treatise of proportions (apocryptic). This suggests not only a link between the different testimonies, but allows us to think that the mixed version of the Musica speculativa was written after the death of Jean de Murs (1351/1360).
