Anciennes remontées mécaniques dans les montagnes françaises : pour une géographie des friches touristiques (Old ski lifts and telphers in French mountains : for a geography of touristic waste lands)

Touristic arrangement of mountains has to be studied in each stage : setting up and working of course, but also after stopping. This last step is often omitted, in spite of the increasing number of touristic waste lands. Twelve places are studied here, from West Pyrenees to North French Alps via Cevennes and Provence : old telphers to great panoramas or small ski resorts, those places have been deserted because changes of mountain practices and wear of engines altogether. In Val Pelouse (Savoy), the five ex-ski lifts have been very neatly demanded, but elsewhere those touristic waste lands make lots of harmful effects in landscape and there is yet no legal prescription about them.
