Une approche des usages et représentations des écrans multimédias dans leur contexte social de production

What happens when an inexperienced user tries to use a multimedia computer in a library, i.e. in a situation of knowledge acquiring ? This question guided an investigation conducted in 1996 among CDRom users. This paper analyses its results. Indeed libraries have recently increased their collections of electronic documents. Yet their use remains limited, most of the users being still inexperienced and unfamiliar with this training space. This paper sheds some light on the exploratory uses of the new medium.
