• This article has two main parts. The first presents a new calibration of a 14 С datation from a Dompierre-les-Tilleuls (Doubs) barrow. This datation, 797 B.C., can be used to reexamine the chronology of Hallstatt С in Jura, Eastern France, Switzerland and the South-West of Germany. The second studies the natural and socio-cultural factors working in the transition Bronze Age/Iron Age in the same regions : typology, landscape, settlement, bronze and iron metallurgy and technology, roads and exchanges.
