The flint industry of Mehrgarh, Baluchistan, provides a good sampling for the different periods of a continuous occupation during several millennia. The evolution of the sickle blades which are in large number gives an opportunity to study an aspect of the changes through time in the material culture and to make what P. Mortensen has called an innovation diagram (1).
