Construction is a challenging and long-term process during which situations causing deviations anduddisagreements between the contracting parties might occur. One of the possible reasons for suchudoccurrences is a poorly prepared construction contract. By signing it the constructor binds himself toudcarry out the work whereas the customer binds himself to pay the constructor a certain price for theudgiven service. It is for this reason that the contract should be written carefully and thoughtfully.udMy diploma thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part I will focus on theoretical references andudgeneral terms which are used to regulate contracting relations between the parties and are applicable toudthe Slovenian legislation. How contracting relations are regulated by the international organisationudFIDIC will also be presented. Firstly I will provide a description of the general FIDIC conditions, theirudapplicability and their development through history as well as their compatibility with the Slovenianudlegislation.udIn the second part of the thesis a detailed presentation of contracting relations from the FIDIC's RedudBook will be given. These prove themselves to be a more effective, inexpensive and faster way ofudsolving the deviations that occur during construction. To enable a faster and easier reading of theseudprocedures, I created a graphical representation of the diagrams which present the processes ofudindividual events connected with a regular occurrence of deviations. The final finding is that theuddiagrams enable the overall review of all the procedures, reading them becomes faster and moreudcomprehensible.
