A decision model for integration of the fixed assets register and technical register of public service infrastructure

One of the key issues in the planning, constructionudand management of public service infrastructure isudfinancing such infrastructure and ensuring its longtermudreliability. For this purpose, it is necessary toudestablish effective asset management tools. The basisudfor the creation of such tools is relevant registers.udIn Slovenia, the technical register and fixed assetsudregister of public service infrastructure both representudthe same subject from different points of view, butudthey are usually not interconnected. Qualitative andudquantitative analyses of both registers in 13 localudcommunities in Slovenia were used to develop auddecision model for the integration of the fixed assetsudregister and the technical register of public serviceudinfrastructure. The proposed decision model willudoffer local communities one possible approach forudconnecting the technical register and fixed assetsudregister of public service infrastructure. This will beudthe first step towards the establishment of effectiveudasset management tools for managing public serviceudinfrastructure.
