Bicycle traffic and areas arrangements in the city municipality of Koper - analysis of arrangements and suggesting improvements

The diploma thesis treats bicycle traffic in the City of Koper. First, in the introductory chapter, are outlined the important characteristics of bicycle traffic and given the recent trends for designing the cycle areas. In the following are presented the latest arrangements of bicycle traffic from abroad, the measures taken and their results. Considering the widespread attachment of the coastal areas on the neighboring Republic of Italy, the presented arrangements are especially based on the experiences of our western neighbors. The core of the diploma thesis presents the characteristics of bicycle traffic in the City municipality of Koper, separately for peripheral and urban cyclist's areas. There are analyzed the major cycling scheme and puts forward suggestions and the concrete measures to correct deficiencies or improve the current situation. Presented are also the measures to encourage greater use of bicycles as a daily means of transport.
