Design of air traffic control tower at Brnik airport according to European Standard Eurocodeudis presented. The structure of tower is a concrete, 106 m high core, supported by 31 m longudpiles. Calculation of self weight, variable actions, snow and wind load has been examined.udThe main part of diploma thesis is earthquake analysis. The building belongs to importanceudclass III which determinates the building to be designed for the earthquake with a longerudreturn period as regular ones. Because the structure has no explicit places for energyuddissipation, we have decided for the construction system of inverted pendulum. For theudmedium ductility class the value of behavior factor is equal to 1,5. The analysis results haveudbeen oscillation periods, displacements, tension in sections and the quantity of reinforcementudin certain section by different load combinations. The results by modifications of input dataudlike cracked or not cracked concrete structure, different behavior factors, number ofudconsidered oscillation periods and different types of restrains were compared. Two computerudmodels have been made, one by program ETABS with linear elements and one by programudSAP2000 with shell elements. Results of different models balance very well. At the end theudcomparison with existing results by old JUS Standards from Full Plans Procedure projectuddocumentation is presented.
