The purpose of this study is to review existing supply chain and logistics competencies and their potential application in humanitarian logistics. The study uses a systematic literature review to identify relevant articles and bases its discussion on the integration of these findings with the broader humanitarian logistics literature. The research indicate that competency frameworks are not well developed in general supply chain management and logistics literature especially for behaviours and links to performance - and even less so within the humanitarian logistics literature. Nevertheless, the paper offers a conceptual model based on the material reviewed which can be used for further study.
