The use of walkman (or personal stereo) in the city is a new form of mobility that questions the usual categories of our understanding. By lending his body to walkman' voices, the listener-player adopts spatio-phonic practices playing complex interference between spatial, perceptive and social behavior. His experience in public can be read in different ways: in terms of discrimination of the sound environment, rearrangement thresholds of public and destabilization of social situations. In addition, the headphones operates a disruption of the perceptual apparatus of the listener, instrumente a disjunction between the visible and audible and leads to instability of the forms received and expressed.
