The aim of this talk is to compare the semantics and distribution of the Mandarin adverb "zài" and the French adverb "encore". • We will characterize "encore" and "zài" as two repetitive adverbs, sharing the same presuppositional semantics ; • We will show that the interpretive and distributional differences between them can be described as terms of constraints on the temporal configuration and aspectual setting of their host sentences ; • In order to capture the differences and similarities in distribution between the two adverbs, we take advantage of a lattice organization of a Reichenbachian formal model description of tense
