BEHAVIOR OF FEMALE SEX WORKERS (FSW) IN PREVENTIONudSTIS AND HIV/AIDS IN DISTRICT SINTANG

Female Sex Workers (FSW) is one of a high risk infected population of STIs andudHIV/AIDS. High rates of STIs and HIV/AIDS among FWS among others due to lack of theudpreventide behavior. The porpose of this study is to invesigate the determinants of theudbehavior of FSW in the prevention of STIs and HIV/AIDS that included age, education,udmarital status, family support, peer support, support pimps, support health workers,udknowledge and attitudes.udThis research used cross-sectional design with sample of 90 FSW. Techniques of dataudcollection using questionaries, data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysisudusing chi square statistical test.udThe result showed the majority of FSW in the consistent use of condoms. Theudvariable related are age, family support, peer support support pimps, support healthudworkers, knowledge and attitudes to the behavior of STIs and HIV/AIDS.udThe improvement by health promotion program and the consistency of condomudusing will be more applicable effort.udKeywords: Behaviour, FSW, IMS and HIV/AIDS
