La maternité à l'adolescence : une prise en charge spécifique ? Analyse de l'impact des recommandations faites dans un rapport de 1998 sur une population d'adolescentes ayant mené leur grossesse à terme : étude comparative 1998-2010 dans cette même maternité

Teenage motherhood is considered risky, in France on the medical, social and psychological aspects. In 1998, a report was released giving advice about how to improve the way these pregnancies should be managed. We conducted a retrospective study on 169 cases in the maternity ward where this report had been initiated in order to assess the impact 12 years later and deduct an appropriate care. The results don't show any change on the social environment in which these teenagers live, reflecting vulnerability and insecurity. Monitoring has been conducted earlier but hasn't reached the HAS recommendations and doesn't have the positive impact expected on the pregnancy or on neonatal pathologies. The comparison between the report and our study shows that it is important to consider individually these young women and to track risk factors specific to their age. A multidisciplinary follow-up during and after pregnancy as well as a communication tool between the different stakeholders seem essential in order to reach an efficient comprehensive care.
