Impact de l’utilisation du site internet Portalys de l’Institut Curie, dans le suivi de patients atteints de cancer, du point de vue du médecin généraliste

Institut Curie has developped a website, called Portalys, allowing them to have a quick access to the medical records of their patients. A qualitative study has been conducted in order to assess the consequences of this website on the way general practitioners follow cancer patients. Eighteen GPs have been interviewed during semi-conducted interviews. GPs using Portalys acknowledged the assistance provided by such a tool in their daily practice. Quick access to medical records allows an improvement in the quality of patients monitoring and leads to a modification of practices. However, it appears that lack of IT skills among GPs is a limitation to the diffusion of such a tool. This study confirms the interest of developing communication tools in the form of dematerialized medical records in order to help GPs in the monitoring of their cancer patients.
