Use of an Adult Rat Retinal Explant Model for Screening of Potential Retinal Ganglion Cell Neuroprotective Therapies

The authors report validation of an adult organotypic retinal explant culture system for use as an efficient medium-throughput screening tool with which to identify novel RGC neuroprotective therapies for further investigation using preclinical disease models.
