Interest in whole-food nutrition will be a leading trend in the food industry for the foreseeable future. More and more consumers are proactively influencing their own health by including functional foods in their diets. Future food-product development efforts will include a focus on weight loss and sodium reduction, increase of vitamin, but taste still reigns. Americans are still not willing to give up all indulgences in the name of a healthy lifestyle.
