Web-based Digital Resources for Small Animal Medicine Professionals

The Internet which is also known as ‘Information Superhighway’, ‘GlobaludInformation Infrastructure’, ‘Cyberspace’, ‘Hyperspace’ etc., connectsudmillions of computers in a web and makes almost immediateudcommunication possible, irrespective of the location of its users. TheudInternet provides huge resources that are useful for veterinary and animaludscience professionals and the amount of accessible veterinary medicineudinformation is increasing rapidly. Ideally, this could provide a formidableudopportunity for Veterinarians to exchange and process veterinaryudmedicine information with colleagues around the world from theiruddesktop. Though the Internet offers virtually unlimited amount ofudinformation related to small animal medicine and surgery and provides audnumber of tools to access, it is useful in at least three aspects related toudveterinary medicine and surgery viz., communication, education andudresearch. This paper attempts to profile such important digital knowledge resources useful for small animal veterinary medicine professionals.
