Longitudinal elastic wave propagation in an elastic rod supported by the Coulomb’s friction force working axially on the surface of the rod has been analyzed and investigated experimentally. The so-called wave equation was solved by Laplace’ transformation. Factors for the reflected waves being introduced in the original function, considerable accordance was seen between the analyzed and the experimented result. In this report, however, the case was investigated, where the length of the striking rod was just a little shorter than twice that of the stationary one. The signs of the reflection of waves at the both ends of the stationary rod were taken into consideration and the stress changes and others after the steady state, were expressed in appropriate equations.
