One cannot look upon the history of music without looking at the term content especially the historical content. Let us extend the view beyond the mere term of validity in a well-grounded, functional and relational way, in order to gain a practical theory for historical content regarding musical (hi)stories. After an analysis of the conditions of validity let us consider the boundaries of narrative validity within the frame of a historical, practical theory as well as a final reflection of education as means of a specific (related to music) existence. Thus the rephrased term validity in a practical, theoretical sense allows us a glimpse of historical content of music as a mechanism of validity. (DIPF/Orig.)
