Save Library Users' Time, Ranganathan's Fourth Law ofudLibrary Science: Why and How?

This article discusses the issue of saving users' time in Libraries.udTime is so crucial to individuals, organisations and even theudSociety. Libraries are established to provide information to users.udThe bulk of information available in the library if not properlyudmanaged will cause users to get lost in the ocean of informationudexplosion. Saving users' time is one o(the major objectives of anyudlibrary. This researcher discussed strategies that libraries can putudin place 'to save the time of library users, such as properudorganisation of the materials through effective cataloguing andudclassification, accurate shelving and shelf reading, effective andudefficient reference services, application of ICT in Libraries, Userudeducation programme etc. Based on these, it is recommended thatudlibraries should as a matter of fact consider all these strategies inudorder to remain relevant in this present age.
