Resource Sharing in Academic Libraries in Nigeria:ududA Digital Imperative

This paper exwnined the past e./forts made by Nigerian libraries towardsudsharing of resources and enum.erated the benefits accruing from suchudventures. It also identified the necessary conditions for digital resourceudsharing such as fund, c01nputers, internet availability, constant powerudsupply, standard and up-to-date union catalogue, and properudmaintenance skills among others. 111e poor state of these conditions inudNigeria were highlighted and the recommendations include generation ofudfund for digital facilities, review of library school curriculum, staffudtraining, and acquisition of computer skills and maintenance of ·udstandards
