Keywords: teacher’s strategy, teaching reading, reading comprehension.udEnglish has four skills, they are speaking, writing, listening and reading. Oneudof those skill is reading. To understand the contents of the text, the students facedudmany problems. Therefore, as an English teacher, we have to be able to find anudinteresting strategy in teaching English especially in mastering readingudcomprehension. The teacher should be able to find and use the right strategyudwhich is suitable with the students’ condition. Based on explaining above, theudresearcher interested to find out the teacher’s strategies in teaching readingudcomprehension in second grade of MTs Tarbiyatul Ulum PanungasriudPanggungrejo Blitar.udThe research problems of the research were: 1) what are the teacher’sudstrategies in teaching reading comprehension in second grade of MTs TarbiyatuludPanggungasri Panggungrejo Blitar? 2) To what extent those strategies help theudteacher in teaching reading comprehension in second grade of MTs TarbiyatuludPanggungasri Panggungrejo Blitar?udThe purposes of the research were to: 1) to know the teacher’s strategies inudteaching reading comprehension in second grade of MTs Tarbiyatul PanggungasriudPanggungrejo Blitar. 2) To know to what extent that strategies can help teacher inudteaching reading comprehension in second grade of MTs Tarbiyatul UlumudPanungasri Panggungrejo Blitar .udResearch method, the researcher used descriptive qualitative researchudconsisting of some data in the form of word, phrase and sentences. It is used touddescribing something that is known to have happened in the process of teachingudactivity. In conducting the research, the researcher collected data throughudobservation. Then the research interviewed the English teacher to get moreudinformation. The subjects of this research were the English teacher at MTsudTarbiyatul Ulum Panggungasri Panggungrejo Blitar.udThe result showed that teacher’s strategies in teaching reading comprehensionudis use fourth strategy they are: memorizing strategy, question answer strategy,udgame and discussion strategy. With those strategies the students easily understandudthe text of reading comprehension.
