摘要

The availability of powerful and flexible programming tools is a big advantage for each programmer. This is especially true if the runtime target environment is represented by computational grids (remarkablly complex because of their heterogenous nature) and the applications are high performance and very sophisticated. The paper describes and analyze the XCat library, a CCA-compliant framework which is used to develop grid-enabled high performance software. In order to reach the scope, the library provides advanced programming paradigms based on the usage of dynamic ports mechanisms for the communications between components and moreover it allows to use scripting services in order to develop complex control applications. At last, in order to evaluate the effictiveness of the software, we show and analyze the performance results obtained during our testing phase.
