大正・昭和初期における社会教育のメディアと読者の関係性 : 三団体の機関誌の検討を中心に

How was the information of daily "life" sent by the movements of adult education to people in 1920s' Japan? And how did people accept or react to this information? In this paper, I refer to the journals of three organizations (Seikatsu-Kaizen-Domeikai, Bunka-Seikatsu-Kenkyukai, and Bunka-FuKyukai), which were concerned mainly with activities on people's daily "life." I pay attention to the "mode" of adult education, appeared on the journals published by these organizations (Seikatsu-Kaizen, Bunka-Seikatsu, etc.) To clarify the characteristic of this "mode," I examine in detail the sections of readers' opinions and questions on these journals. This case study suggests the relation between the "mode" of adult education and its subjects in this period. These movements, mainly aiming at women of new middle class, tried to construct mutual actions with readers through these journals. The "modal" characteristic of this mutuality was affinitive with the orientation (or "habitus") of new middle class to a certain extent, because of their dependence on mass media, and because of their consciousness and spontaneity for improving their own life. But these movements couldn't get enough reaction from their main target because the devices for mutual actions on these journals did not continue long.
