Multilocular cyst of the left kidney was found in a 14-month-old male infant. 1. Histologically, in the intervening stroma of the multilocular cysts, hypercellular area was focally seen which was compatible with renal tubuli or capillaries. PAS positrve substance was proved in the basement membrane of these tubular structures. 2. Multilocular cyst of the kidney seems to be a rare condition. Approximately thirty cases in U. S. A. and Europe and less than 10 cases in Japan meet the diagnostic criteria of Boggs & Kimmelstiel (1956). 3. As shown in our case and some in the foreign literature, presence of the metanephric blastem components may etiologically suggests the neoplastic origin of this disseas. As a matter of fact, reported is a case of multilocular cyst of the kidney which was associated with Wilms' tumor or a case histologically compatible with non-malignant nephroblastoma. Its relation with Wilms' tumor, therefore, must be considered.
