Among all the factors able to explain the financial crash which occurred the 24-th of October 1929 appears the speculative fever as a main feature of the American society during the “booming twenties”. During the “bullish” bubble, which role and influence did the American media play, and especially the information newspapers ? By falling into collusion with the world of business and the finance companies, a large part of the press doesn’t act anymore as a watchful counter-power and feeds the speculative fever in a social context of blindness in front of future collapse.
