udLa imagen de los destinos turísticos es un tópico importante en la investigación turística actual. La investigaciónudempírica en éste área es predominantemente cuantitativa, aunque la investigación cualitativa está creciendoudrápidamente en la investigación de la imagen de los destinos. El objetivo de este estudio es revisar 336 trabajos sobre la imagen de los destinos turísticos publicados entre 1980 y el primer trimestre de 2012. La técnica Repertory Grid está especialmente tratada en el estudio, ya que enlaza los dos principales paradigmas de laudinvestigación científica, el positivista o cuantitativo y el interpretativo o cualitativo. Se sugiere la utilización de la técnica Repertory Grid en la investigación de la imagen de los destinos.udABSTRACT: Destination image is a hot topic in contemporary tourism research. Empirical research on this area is udpredominantly quantitative although the qualitative approach is growing quickly in tourism destination image. The udaim of this study is to review 336 destination image empirical papers published from 1980 and the first quarter of 2012. The use of the Repertory Grid technique is specially analyzed since that this technique bridges the two main scientific research paradigms, the positivist or quantitative and the interpretative or qualitative paradigm. It is suggested the use of the Repertory Grid approach on destination image research.
