Steering system and suspension design for a formula SAE-A racer

摘要

This dissertation documents the steering and suspension design of the 2006 FormulaSAE-A racer made at the University of Southern Queensland.The dissertation includes information on various steering and suspension systems andthe various geometry set ups that define handling and performance of the FormulaSAE-A racer. It also introduces Wm. C. Mitchell's suspension geometry software andhow it can be used to analyse and optimise steering and suspension setups.An analysis of the 2005 Formula SAE-A racer to determine improvements that can beimplemented into the 2006 design has been included followed by the design intentionsof the 2006 Formula SAE-A racer.
