PHONE DIRECTORY IMPLEMENTATION IN THE MS OFFICE SHAREPOINT SERVER 2007

The bachelor’s thesis presents a phone directory implementation into intranet portal based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. udThe Phone directory enables portal end-users to quickly and easily access its information through its search bar. Phone directory editor and administrator have also some additional features. They can add or delete items in phone directory and they can view or edit details of each item in phone directory. There is also one, for all users except for administrator, invisible feature that updates each item details. It assures, that the information that phone directory provides is accurate.udThe thesis introduces the technologies and principles important for understanding the implementation. It describes how the phone directory application is constructed. Furthermore, it presents how the phone directory works and what are the most frequently used complete sequences of events, described from the point of view of the end-user (Use cases). At the end, two possible ways of updating the phone directory are presented and compared. The first one uses Workflow for serving its purpose and the second one uses Timer Job.ud
