Development of an electronic guestbook including booking management for smaller accommodation facilities

This thesis describes the motivation for the development, design and operation of the software that implements an electronic guestbook with booking management for small and medium-sized accommodation facilities. The first part covers the presentation of the target user group, description of their work and their needs, analysis of existing solutions on the Slovenian market and a review of the shortcomings that these have and create the need for a new solution. Next, the design of a custom solution that attempts to satisfy this need is presented, followed by the plan for its development and description of the software package eGost, that enables secure guest data internet transmission. The implementation of this custom solution in the form of a free program named Opengost and its functionalities are described in detail. The final part examines the feedback provided by the first users and also describes a method for monitoring their number and making decisions in future development.
