Retrovisiones : el espejo como fenómeno umbral y espacial : relaciones con la arquitectura, la escenografía y la instalación artística

摘要

Esta tesis realiza un recorrido por los diferentes usos que ha recibido el espejo través de la historia en función de su evolución técnica y su relación con espectador en el arte, la arquitectura y la escenografía. A partir de las obras escogidas se explica cómo ha evolucionado la relación del espectador con la obra y cómo el espejo se ha ido transformando para generar espacialidad. Se han condensado las propuestas en tres posiciones básicas con respecto al espejo: Frente, dentro y al otro lado del mismo. Con esta categorización se pretende manifestar la transformación del espejo de objeto que refleja a elemento capaz de generar espacialidad. Primero con la creación del espejo habitable y luego con la capacidad del espejo de crear nuevos mundos o heterotopias. Así mismo se pretende averiguar la relación que establece el arte contemporáneo hoy con respecto al espejo, y encontrar los motivos de su renovado interés dada la proliferación del mismo en el arte, la escenografía y la arquitectura actual. ABSTRACT This Thesis explores the different ways mirrors have been used along History. Mirror connections with art, architecture and scenography will be analyzed, as well as changes perceived in these relationships as a consequence of technical evolution of reflection-making devices. Changes in the interaction between art and observer are explained through selection of art works. These works are gathered in three basic categories defined a by the three different ways observer reports to the mirror: in front, inside and beside. This categorization proves how mirrors have evolved from mere reflectors to full spatial generators: first by the creation of the habitable mirror, and then by mirrors own capacity to create new worlds or heterotopias. A big number of art pieces, buildings and stage designs using the mirror argument have been found along the research phase. Consequently, a special attention is paid to the use of mirror/reflection in contemporary art, in order to find the reasons for the renewed interest on this subject.
