This research is motivated by the existence of several problems related to the teaching of writing text descriptions response. Students tend to be difficult to pour his ideas into writing, the number of errors in spelling, lack of student motivation to write, and coupled with the use of methods, techniques, media, and learning models used by teachers who are less attractive and monotonous. Researchers interested in using one of the active learning model, ie a model of type 5e learning cycle in teaching writing text descriptions response. The learning model is able to exert influence on student outcomes. In the first cycle of students who scored below the KKM numbered 22 people with the percentage of 68.75%, while students who have a value in accordance with KKM (75) and above KKM amounted to one and nine people on the percentage of each 3:12 % and 28.12%. In Cycle II students who scored below the KKM total 15 people with a percentage of 47%, while students who have the appropriate value KKM (80) and above KKM amounted to two and 15 people on the percentage respectively 6% and 47% . Meanwhile, the third cycle, there were 13 students who scored in accordance with the KKM or by 28%. Students who are on top of the KKM totaled 19 students or by 72%. The average value of the students in the first cycle was 70.37, while in the second cycle was 78.5, while the third cycle the average is 83.71. Thus, it can be concluded that the type of learning model 5e learning cycle can improve the ability to write text description of the response.
