Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center has gone through several changes throughout its 50 year history. As an attempt to better assess the mental health issues for adult consumers seeking services, the Intake Department was established. By staging the assessment into two sessions, it allowed the Intake Department to screen a larger number of consumers by decreasing the time needed to open a case from the clinical process.
