This paper aims to describe the research into language activities for early childhood. Currently, there is little research into the field of early childhood education, whereas, there are extensive studies into primary aged education. Therefore, studies into enhancing language learning activities for this age group are imperative. To gain further insight, there were sixty eight preschools in Okayama city which participated in this survey. The results indicated there needs to be improvement in communication ability. In addition, advancement in internalizing knowledge is critical for this age group. Despite high levels of teacher training and engaging class activities, there still requires more enthuses on developing cognitive ability. This will assist in bridging the gap between preschool and elementary school education.
