This paper describes audgroundbreaking 6-20 GHz Low Noise AmplifierudLNA) that is easy to use, high performance andudlow cost. For ease of use it incorporates a 5x5 mmudsurface mount package, self-biasing, operate on audsingle 3V supply, and integrated 50 Ωudinput/output matching. For performance theudpackage amplifier delivers over 20 dB gain andud2.1 dB noise figure. Cost is kept low throughudutilization of PHEMT 6” wafers and volumeudautomated package panel assembly and test. Theudauthors feel this product is unique and industryudleading in all aspects of design, packagingudperformance and cost.
