To simulate migration pattern ofudalbacore tuna in the western North Pacific Oceanudduring the winter period, a kinesis model drivenudby high accuracy of sea surface temperature (SST)udmaps was used. Simulations showed that albacoreudtuna aggregated in areas of thermal preferenceudindicated by contour line of 20??C SST. Results areudcompared with empirical observation maps ofudalbacore tuna fishing locations determined fromudlongline fishing operations during the same timeudperiods. Albacore tuna distributions alongudthermal fronts generating from Simulations wereudfairly consistent with empirical data especiallyudduring November-January, although seasonaludvariations in surface temperature ranges occupiedudsuggest that additional oceanographic factors areudinvolved particularly during February-March.udSimulations and empirical data had similarudtemperature distributions at approximately 18-ud21??C and one-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov testudreinforced the result performance. These resultsudsuggest that kinesis model driven by satelliteudmicrowave data is one of effective mechanisms foruddescribing migration route of tuna in theudexpansive ocean environment.
