The advancements in wireless mesh networksud(WMN), and the surge in multi-radio multi-channel (MRMC)udWMN deployments have spawned a multitude of network per-udformance issues. These issues are intricately linked to theudadverseudimpact of endemic interference. Thus, interference mitigaudtion isuda primary design objective in WMNs. Interference alleviatiudon isudoften effected through efficient channel allocation (CA) scudhemesudwhich fully utilize the potential of MRMC environment andudalso restrain the detrimental impact of interference. Howeudver, udnumerous CA schemes have been proposed in research literatuudreudand there is a lack of CA performance prediction techniquesudwhich could assist in choosing a suitable CA for a given WMN. Iudnudthis work, we propose a reliable interference estimation anudd CAudperformance prediction approach. We demonstrate its efficaudcy byudsubstantiating the CA performance predictions for a given WudMNudwith experimental data obtained through rigorous simulatiudons onudan ns-3 802.11g environment.
