Kajian berbentuk eksplorasi tentang Frikatif Lelangit-Gusi yang tidak bersuaraudIS! dan yang bersuara 131 ini dilakukan terhadap tiga puluh (30) pelajar BahasaudInggeris daripada latarbelakang Mandarin di sebuah kolej swasta.udObjektif kajian ini tennasuklah: mengenalpasti varian serta pola varian yanguddihasilkan oleh subjek kajian, pola fonologi serta keupayaan subjek mengenalpastiudkedua-dua fonim sasaran yang dikaji yakni lSI dan 131.udududThis study is an exploratory investigation of the voiceless palato-alveolarudfricative IJI and the voiced palato-alveolar fricative 131 sounds concerning thirtyud(30) subjects who are English learners with Mandarin background and are studyingudin a selected local private college.udThe objectives of this study are to establish the possible variants producedudby the subjects, the patterns of occurrences of the variants, the phonologicaludpatterns of the variants and the ability of the subjects in distinguishing the· twoudtarget phonemes of !JI and /3f.ud
