摘要

We are developing a long-term monitoring protocol for the National Park Service (NPS) through a collaboration with the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) and University of Alaskaud-- Southeast (UAS). The goal is to monitor the status and trends of freshwater contaminants in the NPS Southeast Alaska Network (SEAN). The protocol will enable long term monitoring of selected chemical, and biological elements that represent the overall health or condition of park resources, the effects of stressors, and elements with important human values. The primary objective for the first phase of this multi-year project is preparing a draft protocol which articulates and adopts theud-- specific measurable objectives of the long-term monitoring program.
