It is at the intersection of research areas that are now most likely to participate in a major discovery. The fields themselves are very well covered and it is true that it can specialize as the marginal aspects elude us. Here is a motivation that comes out of motives such as the current scientific understanding of polar ozone depletion, changes in our climate, or looking for a life outside our planet. Yet it is also a motivation that can be simultaneously on several hot topics of the moment. Thus, my work past, present and likely future of the atmospheres and climates of Earth and planetary science in particular illustrate the general theme of my research. Spectroscopy and radiative modelisation were my tools so far marked the limits of this research.
