The objectives of research are : (1) To find out which one is the better, the udmathematicslearning achievement of linear equation system (SPL) subject matter udusing the Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model or using direct learning udmodel, (2) To find out whether or not the mathematicslearning achievement of udstudents with high learning motivation is better than the ones with low learning udmotivation in the subject matter of linear equation system (SPL), and (3) To find udout whether or not there is an interaction between the use of learning model and udthe student’s learning motivation level on the mathematicslearning achievement udin the subject matter of linear equation system?.udThis study was taken place in SMA Negeri in Tulungagung Regency udduring August-December 2009 period with the population of tenth gradeof SMA udNegeri in Tulungagung Regency in the school year of 2009-2010 of 2945 students udconsisting of 10 SMA Negeri. The sample of research consisted of SMAN 1 udKedungwaru, SMAN 1 Kauman and SMAN 1 Pakel of Regency Tulungagung. Of udeach school 2 (two) classes were taken as the sample divided into 1 (one) class as udexperiment group and 1 (one) class as the control group. The research sample was udobtained by combining stratified random sampling and the cluster random udsampling.udThe data collection was done using questionnaire, test, and documentation udtechniques. The questionnaire instrument validation was done using content udvalidity and internal consistency. The test instrument validation was done using udcontent validity, while the test reliability was tested using alpha formula and item udanalysis (Anava) wit different cells.udThe conclusions of research are : (1) The students mathematics learning udachievement using the Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model is better than udthat using direct learning model in the subject matter of linear equation system, udthat using direct learning model in the subject matter of linear equation system, ud(2) The mathematics learning achievement of linear equation system subject udmatter of the students with high learning motivation is better than that of the udstudents with low learning motivation, and (3) There is no interaction between the uduse of learning model and the student’s learning motivation level on the udmathematicslearning achievement in the subject matter of linear equation system.
