The objectives of the research are to find out the increase of student’ learning udmotivation and the learning achievement of Physical Education on Basket Ball udSubject, Grade XI IPS.1 SMA Negeri 1 Banyudono through the application of udlearning strategy by using the method of progressive distributed exercise. The udresearch involves 40 students.udThis research is a Class Action Research which is carried out in grade XI IPS.1 udstudents of SMA Negeri 1 Banyudono. The data is collected by using the data udresources in the forms of a place and event, informants, and document. The udinstruments used in this research are observation technique, interview, udquestionnaire, and test. The research is carried out within the phases of cycle udaction. Before entering into the cycle phases, it is firstly carried out a pre-cycle udaction by using a conventional method. After completing the pre-cycle action, udthen, it is continued carrying out the cycle action I, the cycle action II, and the udcycle action III in which each cycle uses the method of progressive distributed udexercise.udThe result of the research shows that the application of learning strategy by using udthe method of progressive distributed exercise is, in fact, able to increase the udstudents’ learning motivation and achievement. On the pre-test, before the action udresearch done, the motivation score is 3.07 (satisfactory category), after the action udresearch done, the motivation score is 3.72 (good category). In spite of increasing udthe learning achievement in first cycle, the class average grade reaches 67.73 with udthe learning completeness 72.5 % and in the second cycle, the class average grade udis 70.25 with the learning completeness 82.5 %, and in the third cycle, the average udgrade reaches 74.68 with the full learning completeness or 100 %.udKey word : Method of progressive distributed exercise, motivation, learning udachievement, Physical Education, Basket Ball Subject.
